Coastal Closet Dress Hire – Terms & Conditions

By renting from Coastal Closet Dress Hire, you agree to the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not proceed with your booking.

1. Payment
1.1. Full payment is required to secure your garment.
1.2. Cancellations made 7 days or less prior to the rental date will receive a 50% refund of the hire fee.
1.3. A 50% security deposit is required. This will be refunded once the dress has been returned, provided there is no damage. We understand that general wear and tear may occur; however, the security deposit will be retained if the garment is returned in an unrepairable condition. This includes significant rips, permanent stains, or any damage that cannot be reasonably fixed.

2. Behavioural Policy
2.1. Coastal Closet Dress Hire maintains a respectful environment and does not tolerate rude or disrespectful behaviour.

3. Liability
3.1. You are solely responsible for the garment during the hire period.
3.2. The garment is for your personal use only. Do not alter the dress in any way, including using pins, adhesives, or other methods. If you have concerns about fit, please contact us — we may be able to assist.
3.3. No ID, No Hire: A valid form of identification (e.g. driver’s licence or passport) must be provided when securing your garment.
3.4. If you are under 17 years of age, a parent or guardian must provide their ID on your behalf.

4. Swapping Items
4.1. Items may be swapped if an alternative garment is available for your selected date.
4.2. If the new garment is priced higher, you will be required to pay the difference. If it is lower in price, no refund will be issued; however, a rental credit may be provided.

5. Shipping & Postage
5.1. Local Hire: Rentals are for a 2-day period, including the day of collection and return.
5.2. Late returns will incur a $10 per day fee unless arranged in advance.
5.3. Australia-wide shipping is available. For items valued over $50, a $20 one-way shipping fee applies. Shipping will be arranged in line with your hire dates.
5.4. For rural or interstate orders, please contact us via Instagram prior to booking to confirm delivery timeframes.

6. Late Returns
6.1. All shipped items must be returned within 3 days of the hire date. A $10 per day late fee will apply to overdue returns.

7. Damage & Repairs
7.1. You are responsible for preventing damage to the garment, including stains from fake tan, makeup, food, or drinks.
7.2. If the garment is returned with irreversible damage, you will be required to pay the full retail value of the item.
7.3. For minor damage, you will be responsible for the cost of repairs. Please notify us immediately if any damage occurs.

8. Returning the Garment
8.1. Do not wash or attempt to clean the garment yourself. Professional cleaning will be handled by us.
8.2. Please notify us of any stains and provide details so we can treat the garment appropriately.
